Amendments to the Labor Accidents Act

The Federal Government issued Decree No.1694/09, amending the regime set forth in the Labor Accidents Act (No. 24,557).


In this respect, additional monetary compensations are increased, whereas, maximum top compensation are eliminated and replaced by minimum guaranteed formulas.

Furthermore, the Decree creates a Registry of health care providers for labor accidents.

The Decree also instructs the National Insurance Superintendence to adopt the measures aimed to the approval of civil liability insurances due to occupational accidents and diseases.

The new regulations are effective as of November 6, 2009.
